I started by making a 3D printed version of the system. I gave each bar a little cavity and a TPU 3D printed knob, so that each bar could be pushed into another one, connecting 3. I then made a silicon mold of the 3D printed shape. I gave each bar also a screw hole, in order to clamp the material inside it. The connecting knobs were cast in silicon. However, the used silicon was too weak to hold the weight of the bars. Ultimately, I like the concept of this idea, but I don't like the way it currently looks and works. I therefore am working on creating a version that can be slipcasted using a plaster mold and ceramics.
